SOFPOG Launches Official Cloth at Annual Dinner and Awards Night

The Society of Family Physicians of Ghana (SOFPOG) proudly unveiled its official cloth during the 12th SOFPOG Annual Dinner and Awards Night, marking a significant milestone in the Society’s journey of promoting unity, professionalism, and identity among family physicians across Ghana.

The launch was one of the highlights of the evening, attracting excitement and enthusiasm from members and guests. This commemorative cloth for the Society of Family Physicians of Ghana weaves together three powerful symbols of the profession’s core values.

The Aprukuma, Adinkra symbol of healing and hope, represents a medicinal seed used to treat infections — reflecting hope, the curing of ailments, and the restoration of well-being that defines family medicine.

At the heart of the design is the family icon, underscoring the Society’s deepest purpose: to care for families, support their health, and walk with them through every stage of life.

Completing the story is the stethoscope, symbol of care, which honours the doctors and their unwavering commitment to listening, understanding, and providing compassionate care to every patient.

Together, these elements celebrate the Society’s mission of healing, family-centered service, and professional dedication.

The official SOFPOG cloth is available at GH₵75 per yard.

Members and interested individuals who wish to purchase the cloth are encouraged to contact any member of the SOFPOG Executive Committee for further details and arrangements.

The Society looks forward to seeing members proudly wear the cloth at future SOFPOG events and professional gatherings as a symbol of solidarity and excellence in Family Medicine.
