Photo Gallery: SOFPOG Health Walk and Trip to Kakum National Park
An aerobics session and health walk was held in the morning of Saturday 20th May, 2023 as part of activities marking the 9th AGSM of the Society of Family Physicians of Ghana.
About 50 family physicians took part in this event. The walk started with an aerobics and warm up session before Family Physicians both young and old walked through the streets of Elmina to exercise and sight see as well.
Visits to the Dutch Cemetery, first Catholic in Ghana and the Elmina Castle were the highlights of this event. Members were taken on a guided tour of the Elmina Castle where various aspects of the slave trade were seen via the dungeons and cells.
This was followed by a mid-morning trip to the Kakum National Park. Many of the members embarked on the canopy walk which was 350m of 7 canopies of different lengths.
Senior Members, Drs Odoi-Agyarko, Aryeh, Quaye, Anum and Diaba were at the forefront of surmounting these canopies . Members then had lunch and played some board games at the gardens afterwards.
