SOFPOG Extends Generosity to Volta River Flood Victims for Yuletide Relief
In a heartfelt response to the plight of those affected by the Volta River Flood Disaster, The Society of Family Physicians of Ghana (SOFPOG), represented by Dr. Takyi Duayeden, Vice President, and Dr. Dora Egblewogbe, made a significant donation through CITI 97.3 FM, an Accra based Radio station that is helping coordinate relief for victims of the Volta River flood. The contribution aimed to bring solace and support to the victims during the festive season.
The donation comprised essential items catering to immediate needs, including:
- Bags of rice
- Boxes of tin tomatoes
- Bags of sugar
- Boxes of salt
- Boxes of cooking oil
- Canned mackerel
- Bottled water
Understanding the urgency of the situation, SOFPOG didn’t stop there. Alongside these provisions, they also offered clothing items and a generous cash donation of 10,000 Ghana Cedis. This comprehensive aid package aimed to alleviate some of the hardships faced by those affected by the flood.
Dr. Takyi Duayeden and Dr. Dora Egblewogbe expressed their hope that this gesture would bring smiles to the faces of the victims, especially during the Yuletide season. They emphasized the importance of moderation in celebrating Christmas, urging the general public to take care of their health amidst the celebration.

The collaboration with CITI FM reflects SOFPOG’s commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis, showcasing solidarity and compassion toward those in need. The collective efforts made a significant impact on providing immediate relief to the flood victims, offering a ray of hope during a challenging period.
The Executives of SOFPOG wish to thank the entire membership for their immense support with this donation.
