11th Annual General and Scientific Meeting: Championing Universal Health Through Collaboration

Tamale, Ghana — May 22–25, 2025

The Family Medicine community in Ghana will converge in Tamale this May for the 11th Annual General and Scientific Meeting under the compelling theme, “Achieving Universal Health Through Collaboration.” This annual gathering, known for its blend of intellectual exchange, strategic discussions, and networking opportunities, promises to be even more dynamic and enriching this year.

Hosted primarily at the Global Dream Hotel, this four-day event brings together healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the country and beyond, aiming to foster collaboration in the pursuit of equitable healthcare access.

Event Schedule Highlights

May 22 – Stakeholder Engagement, CPD, and Cocktail The meeting kicks off with a Stakeholder Engagement session and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, both held at the Global Dream Hotel. These sessions are designed to strengthen relationships and build consensus on key health strategies. In the evening, a Cocktail Reception at the Airforce Base, Tamale, sets a relaxed tone for informal interactions and networking.

May 23 – Scientific Session & AGM A full day of intellectual engagement begins with the Scientific Session, featuring research presentations, panel discussions, and innovations aimed at addressing pressing health challenges. Later in the day, members will gather for the Annual General Meeting, a crucial platform for decision-making and setting the direction for the year ahead.

May 24 – Health Tour & Awards Night Participants will explore healthcare in context with a Health Tour with members to choose either Mole National Park or Red Clay, Tamale, blending wellness, nature, and reflection. The day concludes with an elegant Awards Night & Dinner back at the Global Dream Hotel, where outstanding contributions to health will be celebrated.

May 25 – Thanksgiving The meeting ends on a note of gratitude with a Thanksgiving session, offering time for reflection, appreciation, and shared hope for the future of healthcare delivery.
