Media Campaign: April and May 2024
SOFPOG is set to launch a media campaign advocating for universal access to affordable and high-quality health services. The campaign will utilize mainstream and social media platforms to reach a broad audience. Hospitals’ outpatient departments will also serve as vital portals for information dissemination through audio-visual mediums.
National Stakeholder Engagement: May 14, 2024
On May 14, 2024, leaders from the Ghana Health Service, various Medical Schools, and the Faculty of Family Medicine will convene at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. This engagement aims to foster collaborative approaches to strengthen primary healthcare for the achievement of Universal Health Coverage in Ghana.
Continuous Professional Development Events: April and May 2024
SOFPOG has organized a series of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) events to update doctors, particularly Primary Care Doctors, on current trends in primary care. These events, scheduled for April and May 2024, will cover topics such as hypertension management, diabetes trends, and thromboembolic events prevention.
Community Medical and Surgical Outreach: May 8, 2024
On May 8, 2024, SOFPOG will embark on a free community medical and surgical outreach in selected districts. This initiative is designed to enhance universal access to healthcare for underserved or vulnerable populations, providing services such as screening, consultations, pharmacy services, and day surgeries.
10th Annual General Scientific Meeting (AGSM) and World Family Doctor Day Launch: May 16-19, 2024
The AGSM, set to take place at the Capital View Hotel in Koforidua, will feature a continuous professional development session, scientific session, SOFPOG Annual General Meeting, health tour in the Eastern Region, and a Dinner and Awards Night. Notably, the launch of World Family Doctor Day and press release and Media interaction will coincide with a thanksgiving service at the Methodist Church of Ghana on May 19, 2024.
